About
The Goodwin Research Laboratory has 71,000 square feet dedicated to cancer research. The building features open architecture that allows for collaboration among researchers who aim to translate their discoveries into new treatments and clinical trials. Its location, adjacent to VCU’s Massey Cancer Center, provides physician-scientists easy access to their patients.
The Goodwin Research Laboratory houses 68 lab modules that can expand or contract to meet the needs of the research teams. It also has small meeting rooms, a large formal conference room and office space for some of Massey’s administrators and cancer control researchers. A unique feature of the building is a healing garden, which provides a restorative space among the concrete and brick of the downtown campus.
